Silences, Stories and Solidarities: Building Justice Across Borders with Colombia

Silences, Stories and Solidarities: Building Justice Across Borders with Colombia

Thursday, Sept. 25th @ 6:30pm
Make Out Room, 3225 22nd St, San Francisco

You are invited to see photos, hear the stories and soak up the experiences of three Bay Area residents who recently participated in the
Fellowship of Reconciliation’s August 2008 delegation to Colombia. They spent time with threatened human rights defenders in Bogota, met with
mothers of the disappeared in Medellin and spent a few days in San Jose de Apartadó, a community that has taken a courageous stand for peace and
non-violence amidst Colombia's brutal conflict. The evening will consist of an interactive discussion of the conflict in Colombia and its
relationship with the United States, how state impunity is constructed and maintained, and how grassroots groups are working across borders to
challenge it.

Light snacks will be provided and raffle tickets will be sold! All proceeds will benefit the Fellowship of Reconciliation.
